What you can do

  • Gauges with no calibration on record can’t be selected in the inspection form — and gauges out for calibration, out of service, or lost never appear in the picker at all
  • Optional hard-stop policies go further: refuse the save on any overdue gauge, or require a gauge on every quantitative measurement — start with warnings, tighten when your team is ready
  • Calibration dates nobody can pencil-whip: last cal and verification dates are never hand-typed — they derive only from logged calibration events, and deleting an event rolls the date back to the prior evidence
  • Dates entered at gauge creation or CSV import become auditable baseline events automatically, so migrating from a spreadsheet leaves no evidence gap
  • Gauge registry with categories, locations, serial numbers, calibration and verification intervals — overdue and due-soon flagged in color, with a weekly due-soon digest email
  • Calibration history with certificate records
  • Measurement traceability: if a gauge fails calibration, find every measurement it touched in seconds
  • Gauges tie into inspection plans, so the right tool is specified per part
